Jon Egan and the Desperation Band led the charge with the student ministry of New Life Church that started Heartwork as a project to fund the building of four orphan homes. Jon traveled to Africa with the students to meet the orphans the homes were built for. While there Jon experienced a powerful revelation from God about how we find freedom in Christ as we bring freedom to others (Isaiah 58:10). Since then Jon has helped introduce Heartwork to the Desperation Conference and countless other audiences. He has shaped the philosophy and practice of Heartwork as an organization and also serves on the Board of Directors. Jon shares the message of God's desire to bring freedom to our generation as we bring freedom to the orphans of the world passionately through worship, speaking, Desperation Band albums, tours, and events.
