We're the founders of Heartwork, and pastors who love helping people find joy in serving others. This is the story of how a hard season became a calling — and an invitation for you to live differently, too.
It started with a room full of hurting students
We didn't set out to start a ministry. We set out to help a few young people believe their lives could matter to someone else.

A conviction born in heartbreak
After a season of heartbreaking events in the church where we served in Colorado Springs, we felt led to Isaiah 58:10 as the students in our youth group were healing.
- The dare
Spend yourself
We challenged our students to ask God how they could join Kingdom redemption — offering their time, work, money, prayers, and compassion toward building homes for orphaned children.
- The ripple
Healing, then miracles
What we witnessed was healing and miracles. Other churches saw it too, and began to ask how their own people could be moved from the sidelines into the same kind of self-giving life.

A deeper calling
After ten years of carrying the message across the country, we connected with the Tait family and became assistant pastors at Casa Angelina, an orphanage in Guatemala.

Now we live the message we teach
For roughly half of each year, we live and serve at Casa Angelina in Guatemala — a home for children and a lifeline for more than a hundred widows. The other half, we're in the United States, teaching the themes of Heartwork and offering pastoral resources to churches, youth groups, and organizations that serve the vulnerable.
Our devotional, 30 Days of Heartwork, lives on the YouVersion Bible App, where it continues to reach people we'll never meet.
